The Rolling Meadows Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Maine East Blue Demons at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Rolling Meadows is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Rolling Meadows is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Metea Valley, falling 8-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which Rolling Meadows was not able to get on the board.

Rolling Meadows saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Brigham, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Maine East suffered their closest loss since May 15, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Hoffman Estates by a score of 3-1. The Blue Demons haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Maine East's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Rolling Meadows, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rolling Meadows has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Maine East struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
