The Linden Lions will face off against the Calaveras Red Hawks at 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Linden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Linden took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Riverbank a 5-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won five in a row.
Cambel Dunn tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Millee Holguin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Calaveras was able to grind out a solid win over Big Valley Christian on Friday, taking the game 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Hawks.
The result came thanks to Kamryn Thornburg's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, Emma Clark was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Linden pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Calaveras, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Linden has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Calaveras struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Linden skirted past Calaveras 4-2 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Red Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
