Principals recap September 24, 2013
Indian Valley extended the longest winning streak in Principals this week by beating Tuslaw, 51-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Braves.
Triway scaled the state rankings by moving to 268 from 352 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Titans were able to move up by topping Tuscarawas Valley 32-13.
Fairless's dynamic duo of hunter wells and zack kelly proved to be unstoppable against Manchester, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wells threw for 380 yards and 4 touchdowns and kelly had 226 yards receiving. austin weyandt helped Fairless' passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 68 yards.
The Falcons' dynamic duo of wells and kelly proved tough for the Panthers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Andrew Schauer was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 158 yards as Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy defeated Manchester. Teammate Cordell Wilson added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.
Kelly was the best receiver in Principals this week as Don Wilson's team bested Jim France's team.
Wells put up the best numbers in passing as the Falcons beat the Panthers.
Kelly had an awesome week catching the football as Fairless bested Manchester.
He was 27-45 with 1 interception.
Scott Wohlheter was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Mustangs fell to Indian Valley. The 6-foot-0 junior.
The Falcons' wells and bryant wickham have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wells has thrown for 1,209 yards this season, while wickham, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 28 catches for 416 yards. The Royals' Schauer leads the league in rushing yards with 493.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Matt Lancaster's team takes on Timken. As it stands, the Braves are in first, while the Trojans are in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Indian Valley takes on Timken. The Braves have allowed 65 points this season, while Kevin Henderson's team has given up 75. Indian Valley allowed 20 points last week as it beat Tuslaw.
