The Riverstone International Otters won the last time they faced the North Star Huskies, and things went their way on Friday too. Riverstone International enjoyed a cozy 40-24 victory over North Star. Winning is a bit easier when you drain six more threes than your opponent, as Riverstone International did.
It was another big night for Jason Koval, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Riverstone International's points. Another player making a difference was Amer Sangha, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why North Star lost, one person who can't be blamed is Blake Hansen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
The win got Riverstone International back to even at 2-2. As for North Star, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Riverstone International is on the road again on Saturday and play against Hansen at 11:30 a.m. on December 9th. As for North Star, they will challenge New Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Plymouth presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Star in Idaho (New Plymouth is ranked 15th, while North Star is ranked 107th).
