Ben Holdsworth and Eddy Schlotter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Holdsworth went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Schlotter went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Holdsworth has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Mcketa, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Ryan waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They had just enough and edged out the Patriots 5-3.
Jack Rock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Victor Corniel and Dave Perez did most of the damage at the plate: Corniel went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Perez went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Archbishop Ryan's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Lansdale Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
