After two games on the road, North Warren Regional is heading back home. They will take on Veritas Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Saturday, North Warren Regional came up short against Bound Brook and fell 45-36. While losing is never fun, North Warren Regional can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Bound Brook is ranked 113th).
Meanwhile, Veritas Christian Academy escaped with a win on Tuesday against American Christian School by the margin of a single free throw, 35-34. The win made it back-to-back wins for Veritas Christian Academy.
Caitlin O'Malley and Amya Cuddon were among the main playmakers for Veritas Christian Academy as the former scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals and the latter scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. O'Malley has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoey Torppey, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
North Warren Regional's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Veritas Christian Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
North Warren Regional beat Veritas Christian Academy 33-25 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Does North Warren Regional have another victory up their sleeve, or will Veritas Christian Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
