Baseball Recap: Burrillville Wins High-Profile Match Against Central

Burrillville faced Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Broncos blew past the Knights 18-8. Considering the Broncos have won three matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

AJ Escalera and Jack Dichiaro did most of the damage at the plate: Escalera got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI, while Dichiaro got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Dichiaro a new career-high. Jordan Furtado was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Burrillville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
