Rockwood has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on February 7th.
On Tuesday, Rockwood was beaten by North Star 67-32. While losing is never fun, Rockwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 738th, while North Star is ranked 279th).
Meanwhile, Claysburg-Kimmel got the win against Moshannon Valley on Monday by a conclusive 64-39. That looming 64-39 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Claysburg-Kimmel yet this season.
Claysburg-Kimmel got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Haney out in front who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Haney has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Elias Ritchey was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Rockwood dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
