Basketball Recap: Lake Nona Has No Trouble Against Innovation

Lake Nona posted their biggest win since February 6th on Monday. Everything went their way against the Innovation Bulls as the Lake Nona Lions made off with a 68-43 victory. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Bulls are ranked 544th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carlos Naranjo and Jahniel Phillipus certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Naranjo posted ten points, while Phillipus put up 11 points and seven rebounds. Naranjo has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.

Lake Nona's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Innovation, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Lake Nona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-62 victory against Cypress Creek on the 10th. As for Innovation, they will challenge Crooms Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
