The Clemente Wildcats will be playing at home against the North Lawndale Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clemente comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-13, which was the final score in Clemente's tilt against Lake View on Thursday. Clemente was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-3.
North Lawndale was handed a 20-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against North Grand on Thursday. North Lawndale sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 25-22 victory over North Grand. The victory was just what North Lawndale needed coming off of a 39-19 defeat in their prior contest.
Clemente's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Lawndale, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Clemente was dealt a bruising 106-25 loss at the hands of North Lawndale when the teams last played back in February of 2017. Thankfully for Clemente, Jada Thorpe (who scored 29 points along with seven steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
