Volleyball Recap: Christopher Has No Trouble Against Leigh + How To Watch

Christopher had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Leigh on Thursday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 3-0 win. The Cougars were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Longhorns, so the Cougars were just returning the favor.

Christopher got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 34-32, 25-18.

Finley Corona paced Christopher's offense, picking up nine kills. Corona got some help from Harper Corona and her 15 assists.

Leigh's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Amy Choi, who had 26 assists and three digs, and Teagan Cooling, who had 15 kills and two aces. Cooling is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Christopher has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Leigh, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Christopher will face off against rival Ann Sobrato at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Leigh is set to take on their familiar foe Piedmont Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
