The Arlington Tigers will be playing at home against the Cordova Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arlington comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Arlington fell victim to Germantown's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Red Devils at home and fell 38-0. While losing is never fun, Arlington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Germantown is ranked fourth).
Meanwhile, Cordova also failed to score in their most recent game. They took a serious blow against Bartlett on Friday, falling 41-0. Cordova has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Arlington's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-2 Munford and 7-2 Collierville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 81.1% over those games). As for Cordova, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Arlington strolled past Cordova in their previous meeting back in September of 2022 by a score of 28-13. Does Arlington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cordova turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
