Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Purvis). They blew past the Sumrall Bobcats 16-7 on Tuesday. Considering the Tornadoes have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kade Lawler looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, JoJo Parker was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Purvis is undefeated when Parker posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Hudson Walker was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Purvis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sumrall only posted a batting average of .276.
