The Hesperia Christian Patriots entered their tilt with the PAL Academy Bulls with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Hesperia Christian took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-0 victory over PAL Academy. Considering Hesperia Christian has won eight matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ayden Ortega was his usual excellent self, rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Ortega was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding PAL Academy to a paltry a yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Hesperia Christian's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out ten times before it was all said and done. PAL Academy's QB won't forget Roderick Taylor anytime soon given Taylor sacked him ten times.
Hesperia Christian's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.22 points. As for PAL Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Hesperia Christian will head out on the road to face off against Valley Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. PAL Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
