Chantilly had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the McLean Highlanders 17-14. That's more bragging rights for the Chargers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chantilly will venture away from home to face off against West Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for McLean, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Falls Church at 7:00 p.m. on September 12.
