On Monday, West Clermont earned a 51-40 win over Canal Winchester.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Clermont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Layla Hale, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hale has scored all season. Maddi Fender was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
West Clermont is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Canal Winchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Clermont will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Lebanon at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. Lebanon is on a three-game streak of home wins, West Clermont a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Canal Winchester, they will head out on the road to challenge Worthington Kilbourne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Worthington Kilbourne will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Canal Winchester is ranked 80th).
