If the Baltic Bulldogs were riding high off their 60-38 takedown of the Chester Flyers last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Baltic took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Central. Baltic has struggled against West Central recently, as their contest on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Baltic's loss came despite strong showings from Jack Erickson and Kellen Artz. Erickson scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, while Artz scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Artz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mark Ditter, who scored six points along with two steals.
Baltic's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for West Central, they pushed their record up to 4-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Baltic will take on Viborg/Hurley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Central won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Dakota Valley at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. Dakota Valley will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
