Buna posted their closest victory since October 18, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Kelly Catholic Bulldogs. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Ella Smith paced Buna's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Alyssa Stanley and her 14 assists. Raylee Harding controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Kelly Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kirsten Gary, who had eight digs, four aces, and one block. Abigail Brown was another key player, getting 12 digs, six kills, and one block.

Buna's win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Kelly Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
