Buna won the last time they faced Kelly Catholic and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cougars skirted past the Bulldogs 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since October 18, 2024.

Ella Smith paced Buna's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Alyssa Stanley and her 14 assists. Raylee Harding controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Kelly Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kirsten Gary, who had eight digs, four aces, and one block. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Brown, who had 12 digs, six kills, and one block.

Buna has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-11 record this season. As for Kelly Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Buna has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Evadale on the 23rd. As for Kelly Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Spurger on the 23rd.
