Baseball Game Preview: Tri-County Academy Rebels vs. North Delta Green Wave

For the second straight game, Tri-County Academy will face off against North Delta. The Rebels will square off against the Green Wave at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-County Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so North Delta's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tri-County Academy heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Wednesday. They fell 6-2 to North Delta. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Rebels couldn't push the score so high this time.

For North Delta's part, Landon Hoshell was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Hoshell has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Kolby Baker was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Alex Jackson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

North Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-County Academy only managed four hits.

North Delta is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-County Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 26-6.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tri-County Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like North Delta struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
