The Citronelle Wildcats have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They enjoyed a cozy 59-45 win over Robertsdale on Monday. This was payback for Citronelle, who suffered a 48-40 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the defeat, Robertsdale saw an underclassman step up: Skyler Washington scored 18 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Washington has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kole Singler, who scored five points along with four steals and three blocks.
Citronelle's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-13. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Robertsdale, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Citronelle will take on the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Robertsdale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Chickasaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday.
