Clayton is a perfect 6-0 against Penasco since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Clayton Yellowjackets will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Penasco Panthers at 3:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Thursday, Clayton wound up with the same score they had in their last game (15-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Deagan Maez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Clayton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Penasco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Pecos, falling 16-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Penasco's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Clayton, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Clayton was able to grind out a solid win over Penasco in their previous matchup back in March of 2018, winning 8-3. Will Clayton repeat their success, or does Penasco have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
