This season hasn't been kind to the Scituate Spartans, who are still winless after their 11th game. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 55-40 to Central Falls. If Scituate hoped to take revenge for the 70-39 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cam Healey, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Healey continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryan Larsh, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Central Falls found their leader in underclassman Sire Hazard, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hazard has scored all season. Julian Ortiz was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Scituate's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-11. As for Central Falls, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Scituate's road trip will continue as they head out to face Stonington at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Central Falls, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Achievement First Providence at 6:45 p.m. on January 23rd.
