The Villa Madonna Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Holmes Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Villa Madonna focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
On Saturday, Villa Madonna didn't have too much trouble with Leslie County at home as they won 47-32. The win was just what Villa Madonna needed coming off of a 58-38 loss in their prior game.
Adam Brandstetter and Henry Thole were among the main playmakers for Villa Madonna as the former scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Brandstetter also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Holmes' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Bracken County 80-53. Holmes was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-24.
Villa Madonna's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Holmes, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
