The Delran Bears will challenge Doane Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Delran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Delran's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Riverside with a sharp 14-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won six in a row.

The result came thanks to Mary Masterson's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Arianna Martinez was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Gemma DeJoseph, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Delran kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Doane Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-8 to Palmyra.
Hannah Gusrang made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Tori Szymanski was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI.
Delran's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Doane Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Delran has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .484. However, it's not like Doane Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .616. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Delran's way against Doane Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, as Delran made off with a 13-3 win. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do Doane Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
