The Parkville Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Liberty with a sharp 69-47 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-15.
Parkville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Council led the charge by scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Chima Egeonu was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Parkville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Parkville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Owings Mills at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Owings Mills is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Liberty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Francis Scott Key at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Francis Scott Key will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Liberty is ranked 105th).
