Even though the Daniel Lions scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, the James F. Byrnes Rebels still came out on top. James F. Byrnes enjoyed a cozy 73-59 victory over Daniel. The win made it back-to-back wins for James F. Byrnes.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead James F. Byrnes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Fowler, who scored 23 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Fowler has scored at least 25% of James F. Byrnes' points. Kanife Hill was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals.
Daniel's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Conley, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Will Swann, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Daniel were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as James F. Byrnes only pulled down five.
James F. Byrnes' win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Daniel, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
James F. Byrnes is on the road again on Saturday and play against Asheville School (Independent) at 4:30 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Daniel, they will be playing at home against Easley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Easley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
