A District 15 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Trinity Christian Academy moved up to 222 from 263 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in A District 15. A 35-19 win over Halls helped the Lions improve their standing.
Trinity Christian Academy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. The Lions beat the Tigers 35-19 earlier in the week.
Adamsville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dalton Plunk threw for 62 yards and Jacob Terry had 30 yards receiving. On the ground Dustin Neill chipped in 94 yards. Ross Burcham helped Adamsville's passing attack out by catching one ball for 18 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Plunk and Zak Neary the Cardinals have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Plunk leads the league in passing with 584 yards, while Neary has rushed for 321 yards this season. Scotts Hill's Blake Boring leads the league in receiving yards with 264 on 21 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Trinity Christian Academy takes on Adamsville. As it stands, the Lions are in third, while Brandon Gray's team is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Trinity Christian Academy takes on the Cardinals. The Lions have allowed 153 points this season, while Adamsville has given up 52. Trinity Christian Academy allowed 19 points last week as it defeated Halls.
The Cardinals extended the longest winning streak in A District 15 this week by beating Collinwood, 29-6. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
