The Whiting Oilers won the last time they faced the Lighthouse College Prep Academy Lions, and things went their way on Friday too. Whiting took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 63-2 victory over Lighthouse College Prep Academy. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-2.
Victoria Velez was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last nine games she's played. Alyssa Quinones was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 4 steals.
Whiting pushed their record up to 4-5-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lighthouse College Prep Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Whiting won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Valparaiso at 7:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Valparaiso focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Saturday. As for Lighthouse College Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Calumet Christian at 5:45 p.m. on December 18th.
