The Wayne Warriors managed to keep up with the Springfield Wildcats until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Wayne's rough 57-36 loss to Springfield might stick with them for a while. Wayne was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Springfield apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Wayne lost, one person who can't be blamed is Imani Frazier. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Wayne now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Springfield, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne will be home for the holidays to greet Fairmont at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fairmont has four straight wins, Wayne has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field. As for Springfield, they will play host again and welcome Miamisburg, where tip off is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
