The Mountain View Thunder will challenge the Skyview Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Mountain View after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 19-4 to Camas. The Thunder haven't had much luck with the Papermakers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Laila Reive was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Gracie Single, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Skyview made sure to put some runs up on the board against Kelso on Tuesday. Skyview blew past Kelso 11-3. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Hilanders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Reese Perdue spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Audrey Jackson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Taylor Lies was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.
Skyview's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mountain View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Skyview struggles in that department as they've averaged .405. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
