After flying high against Chesapeake Science Point last Thursday, the Benjamin Franklin Bayhawks came back down to earth. Benjamin Franklin fell just short of Carver Vo-Tech by a score of 75-73. It was the first time this season that Benjamin Franklin let down their fans at home.
It was another big night for Dorrian Sands, who scored 26 points along with nine rebounds and three steals for Carver Vo-Tech. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sands has scored at least a third of Carver Vo-Tech's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalial Colclough, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five steals.
Benjamin Franklin's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2. As for Carver Vo-Tech, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Coppin Academy the next time they take the court. Carver Vo-Tech will host Coppin Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Benjamin Franklin will head out to face them on Thursday.
