The Cottondale Hornets were the 39-33 winner over the Sneads Pirates when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Cottondale was beaten by Sneads 46-13 on Friday. Cottondale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-8.
Ella Sprouse was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points for Sneads. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Dykes, who scored eight points.
Cottondale's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sneads, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cottondale will square off against Malone at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Malone is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Sneads is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Franklin County at 5:00 p.m. on December 12th.
