The Caldwell Redskins will be playing at home against the River Pilots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Caldwell didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Cadets, but they still walked away with a 43-37 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Caldwell's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 345th in Ohio, while the Cadets are ranked 21st in West Virginia).
It was another big night for Katie Franklin, who scored 22 points along with three steals. Franklin is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Laynie Sidwell, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, River waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 55-41 win over Monroe Central.
The win makes it two in a row for Caldwell and bumps their season record up to 11-7. As for River, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Caldwell took a serious blow against the Pilots in their previous matchup back in January of 2019, falling 62-21. Will Caldwell have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
