The Meek Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Lynn Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
While Meek's win against Vina wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Meek skirted past Vina 6-4. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Sadi Farley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Farley was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anna Collins, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Addisyn Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Meek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vina only posted a batting average of .235.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lynn). They walked away with a 13-8 victory over Addison on Friday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Alyssa McKinney was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Bella Harper also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lynn pushed their record up to 5-2-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Meek, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.
Both Meek and Lynn just can't seem to miss. Meek has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Lynn struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Meek came up short against Lynn in their previous meeting on Thursday, falling 8-5. Can Meek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
