A well-balanced attack led Pensacola over the Chiefs in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Pensacola blew the Chiefs out of the water with a 69-33 final score. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pensacola.
Pensacola's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jatony Jefferson, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Khylen Eccles, who scored 14 points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, West Florida entered their tilt with the Crusaders with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. West Florida came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 72-64 on Tuesday.
West Florida got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dominick Nicholson out in front who scored 22 points along with four steals. Nicholson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Young, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Pensacola's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-13. As for West Florida, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
Pensacola came up short against the Jaguars in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 53-48. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of West Florida's John Anderson, who scored 12 points along with seven blocks.
