Mapleton have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will take on Elkton at 4:00 PM. Mapleton strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 51.71 points per game.
Things haven't been easy for Mapleton, and their game last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They took a 42-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Douglas. It was a tough break for Mapleton, who improved upon an already decent score from two weeks ago but lost both times.
Meanwhile, Elkton put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 42-16 margin over Yoncalla. The rankings were on Elkton's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Elkton's win lifted them to 6-1 while Mapleton's defeat dropped them down to 3-4. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
