Softball Recap: Manning Wins Going Away Against Mullins

After only two runs in their last contest, Manning made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mullins on Friday. The Monarchs were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Auctioneers. The Monarchs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 12 runs or more this season.

Shayden Epps made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Dakota Lambert was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Unique C was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Manning now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mullins, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manning will take on Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mullins, they will challenge East Clarendon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
