Mason Pickett-Hicks Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, South Pointe got the W thanks in part to Mason Pickett-Hicks playing the best football he has all season. Pickett-Hicks rushed for 291 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 90 yards.
The win (which was South Pointe's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Pickett-Hicks and South Pointe will head out to take on Dreher at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Roper Wentzky Delivers Best Effort of Season
A.C. Flora was led to victory by Roper Wentzky, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Wentzky threw for 516 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
If history really does repeat itself, Wentzky might just drop another big game when he faces off against Camden on Friday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Wentzky saw the Bulldogs), he threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns.

Another Game with at Least Two Rushing Touchdowns from Willie Smith
Sadly, Willie Smith posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Dreher over A.C. Flora on Friday. Smith wasn't messing around, making 14 total tackles. The matchup was his third straight with two or more rushing touchdowns dating back to last season.
Dreher dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Smith and Dreher will host South Pointe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Kendall Byrd Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, A.C. Flora got the W thanks in part to Kendall Byrd playing the best football he has all season. Byrd picked up 292 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The performance once again pushed his average receiving yardage north of 100 yards per game (106.8). He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 58 yards.
Byrd might have his next game, a road matchup with Camden, circled on his calendar. When Byrd last faced the Bulldogs back in September of 2023, he picked up 170 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

A Season-Best Performance from Aakil Brown Leads South Pointe over Lancaster
South Pointe was led to victory by Aakil Brown, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Brown wasn't messing around, picking up three sacks, forcing three fumbles, and making six total tackles. The match was his fifth straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.
This year, Brown has averaged 6.4 total tackles per game and for the season has 7 sacks. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had one forced fumble. This year he is already up to five.
