Xavier hasn't had much luck against Shawano Community recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Xavier will head out to challenge Shawano Community at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Xavier barely beat St. Mary Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks blew past the Zephyrs 7-1 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on three straight.
Morgan Staszak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Elsa Dvoracek was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Elianna Riehl also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Xavier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shawano Community). Everything went their way against Winneconne on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-6 victory. Considering the Hawks have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kadence Meyers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Meyers was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Ayanna O'Kimosh was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Addison Gusick was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
The win got Xavier back to even at 6-6. As for Shawano Community, their record is now 8-5.
