Given Middle Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Apex is ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Joi Pergerson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alysia Pergerson, who scored seven points along with seven steals.
Middle Creek's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for Apex, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
