The Alta Vista Charter Lobos were the 80-67 winner over the Mission Heights Prep Phantoms when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Alta Vista Charter was beaten by Mission Heights Prep 74-43 on Tuesday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mission Heights Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylend Doble, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Doble scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Emmanuel Kiprotich, who scored 17 points along with eight assists.
Alta Vista Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Mission Heights Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alta Vista Charter on the road again on Friday and play against Southwest Leadership Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Southwest Leadership Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Alta Vista Charter in Arizona (Southwest Leadership Academy is ranked 82nd, while Alta Vista Charter is ranked 224th). Mission Heights Prep won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Heritage Academy Gateway at 5:00 p.m. on January 10th. Heritage Academy Gateway will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
