The Madison Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the A.C. Reynolds Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Madison is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Madison took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Rosman 13-2. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Carrie Gunter spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, A.C. Reynolds was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 19-0 to West Henderson.
Madison's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 13.5 hits in those games compared to only 5.5 in the others. As for A.C. Reynolds, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
A.C. Reynolds' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Madison has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. It's a different story for A.C. Reynolds, though, as they've only averaged .341. Will they be able to contain Madison's hitters?
Madison suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to A.C. Reynolds in their previous matchup on March 3rd. Can Madison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
