The Crescent Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Seneca at home and fell 76-42. Crescent was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.
Crescent lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brody Linker, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Linker also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Airline, who scored six points.
Seneca had a senior duo take command as Jalen Craig scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and four steals and Cam O'kelley scored 24 points along with two steals. O'kelley has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Stu Finley, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Crescent bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Seneca, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crescent will stay at home for another game and welcome Walhalla at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. Allowing an average of 51.7 points per game, Walhalla has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest. As for Seneca, they will be playing at home against Pendleton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Pendleton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
