Van Vleck posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-60 victory over East Bernard. The win made it back-to-back wins for Van Vleck.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Brazos, who are still winless after their 22nd matchup. They fell to Hempstead 30-24.
Van Vleck is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Brazos, their loss was their ninth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-22.
Everything came up roses for Van Vleck against Brazos in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 51-16 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Van Vleck since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
