The Franklin Warriors lost against the Phillipsburg Stateliners back in February of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Franklin fell to the Stateliners 54-50. Franklin has not had much luck with the Stateliners recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Phillipsburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Scerbo jr., who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Scerbo jr. hasn't dropped below 17 points for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ameer Herran, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Franklin now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Phillipsburg, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.
Franklin will head out on the road to take on the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Phillipsburg, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Jersey (Watchung Hills Regional is ranked 20th, while the Stateliners are ranked ninth).
