Bridgeport Central has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Harding Presidents at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Bridgeport Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 45-6, which was the final score in Bridgeport Central's tilt against Darien last Saturday. While losing is never fun, Bridgeport Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Darien is ranked 18th).
Meanwhile, Harding had to suffer through a rough 50-20 loss at the hands of Foran.
Harding's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ja'Mon Mullen, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and Isaiah Hodge who rushed for 99 yards on only ten carries.
Bridgeport Central has yet to win a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 0-9 record. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.0 points per game. As for Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Bridgeport Central took a serious blow against Harding when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 49-18. Thankfully for Bridgeport Central, Jaidon Brown (who rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also caught a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
