Basketball Recap: Michigan Lutheran Seminary Piles Up the Points Against Flint Southwestern Academy

Michigan Lutheran Seminary waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They breezed by the Flint Southwestern Academy Knights to the tune of 52-16. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cardinals just coasted through the last quarter.

Leading Michigan Lutheran Seminary to victory were Grace Steiger and Kennedy Koehler. Steiger went 6 for 9 en route to 13 points and six rebounds, while Koehler went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points along with eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Olive Wakefield, who posted two points and four steals.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. As for Flint Southwestern Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary will challenge Valley Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Flint Southwestern Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on International Academy at 5:30 p.m. on February 18th.
