The Carmel Corsairs and the Simeon Wolverines will round out the year against one another at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at. Carmel is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Last Thursday, Carmel came up short against Stevenson and fell 43-31. While losing is never fun, Carmel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Stevenson is ranked 11th).
Meanwhile, Simeon scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dyett 66-20 at home. That looming 66-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Simeon yet this season.
Simeon found their leader in underclassman Janiya Pillow, who scored 19 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Pillow scored 15 or more points. Sheliyah Battle was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Carmel's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Simeon, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
