The Montclair Cavaliers pushed their score all the way to 42 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of St. Monica by a score of 45-42. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (34), Montclair still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Montclair still got an impressive performance from Elijah Tehe, who rushed for 275 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Tehe is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Cervantes, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
St. Monica was led to victory by Bradley Cassier and Joshua Barnes. Cassier threw for 327 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt, while Barnes picked up 203 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Montclair's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for St. Monica, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Montclair does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Monica will be playing at home against Desert Hot Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Desert Hot Springs is ranked 575th, while St. Monica is ranked 584th).
